Shipping Policy

Thank you for shopping with Dimly Lit Vintage. This policy explains how we ship your order, what it costs, and what to expect after you buy.

Shipping costs

Every piece at Dimly Lit has already lived a life, and some have travelled from the other side of the world to get here. We want the last leg of the journey, from us to you, to be the safest one.

As every piece at Dimly Lit Vintage is one of a kind and varies in size, weight, material and fragility, shipping will vary per item. We'll be in touch with a shipping quote within 48 hours of placing your order. 

  • Smaller items are usually shipped with Australia Post
  • Large, bulky or fragile items such as furniture, mirrors, artwork and other large or delicate pieces may need a specialist courier and prices will vary depending on the size and weight of the item and your location 

Curious about the cost before you commit? Contact us with your suburb and the piece you’re eyeing, and we’ll find the most sensible way to get it to you.

Shipping estimates

To help you plan, many of our product pages include an estimated shipping cost to Sydney and Melbourne metro areas. These estimates are a guide only. Your final shipping cost will be confirmed once we have your delivery address and will depend on your location and how the piece needs to be packed.

Combined postage

When multiple items are purchased, we will endeavour to combine shipping wherever safe and practical and will provide you with a shipping quote within 48 hours of placing your order. 

Local pick up

Local pickup in Lindfield, NSW 2070 may be available by arrangement.

Wrapped with care

Every piece is packed by hand, by us. Glass shades, ceramics and lighting get extra layers, because we’d rather over-wrap than see something arrive in pieces.

When it’ll arrive

  • Orders are usually dispatched within 7 business days of shipping quote acceptance. We will reach out if there is likely to be a delay in dispatching your item.
  • Australia Post delivery times depend on your location and the service chosen.  
  • Interstate courier delivery of large items typically takes 7–15 business days from dispatch, depending on your location and courier availability.

These are our best estimates rather than promises. Weather, carrier delays and the occasional sorting-centre mystery can slow things down. Wherever possible, we’ll send you tracking details so you can follow your piece’s journey.

Shipping destinations

We currently ship within Australia. If you’re overseas and would like a quote, email leah@dimlylit.com.au.

Lost or damaged items

If your order arrives damaged or doesn’t arrive, email us within 48 hours of delivery, or of the expected delivery date. If it’s damaged, include photos/videos of the item and packaging. We’ll lodge a claim with the carrier and work with you on a solution. Because our pieces are one of a kind, this is usually a refund.
